The Future of Sustainable Beauty: A Journey to Radical Transparency

Rewatch our panel discussion with speakers from Weleda, Elemis, LUSH and Evolve Beauty.

Sustainability is a big challenge to decode at any stage of a brand’s journey; knowing where to start, how to communicate progress and understand what conscious shoppers expect. We hosted our first panel discussion and networking evening to inspire others to continue their growth and better understand the hurdles and solutions from leaders in the beauty and wellness industry.

Provenance’s Founder & CEO, Jessi Baker, gives a warm welcome and Colombine Tiranti, Head of Customer Success, introduces the session. Moderator Jayn Sterland (Weleda) and panellists Oriele Frank (Elemis), Gabbi Loedolff (LUSH) and Laura Rudoe (Evolve Beauty) discuss the biggest obstacles to change and how the industry can impact the future.

Here’s what some of our attendees are taking away from the conversation:

“We definitely need to collaborate and talk to each other more. Working together whether we’re big companies or small is creating that signal for change” - Alex Florea, Medik8

“It’s cemented that what we’re doing is right and we’re on the right track and we really can make a difference” - Mikaela, Onrepeat / Neighbourhood Botanicals

“It was incredible to hear from such inspirational speakers - everyone is grappling with the same problems and doing their best to head in the right direction. The conversation highlighted how much working together as an industry is the only way we’re going to step forward towards regenerative beauty” - Ben Grace, SBTRCT

“The amount of knowledge, care and will to drive change from the collective people in the room reinforced my belief that when we come together we can do phenomenal things. I’m leaving inspired and invigorated.” - Gabbi Loedolff, LUSH

“It’s a journey that we’re all on together. I’ve just moved into the beauty industry and I loved the inspiration around regeneration - going back to the ingredients and communities and thinking about the future. Regulation is important in this industry; companies are profit-driven and they need something to make them do the right thing. With more regulation, the industry will be better, consumers and the planet will be safer and we’ll be able to make more sustainable products.” - Apinke Efiong, Eko Botanicals
