What is a Proof Point?

Proof Points are sustainability claims and certifications, that we continuously develop at Provenance to meet evolving standards and regulatory requirements.

We have two types of Proof Points...

1. Evidenced Proof Point

An 'evidenced' Proof Point is achieved by submitting documents within the platform that fulfill the Proof Point criteria outlined in the Provenance Framework.

The Proof Point trust badge appears with a grey tick to assure your shoppers that the sustainability initiative has been evidenced.

The evidence documents are published within your Proof Points on your product pages and are accessible to your shoppers, who can click through the Proof Point trust badges to see how your product or business has achieved your sustainability initiatives.

2. Verified Proof Point

A 'verified' Proof Point is achieved when Provenance's review process has been able to check the evidence provided is accurate with a third party. This is an additional check our review team completes automatically, most commonly with certification bodies that can confirm sustainability practices and achievements.

The Proof Point trust badge appears with a green tick to assure your shoppers that the sustainability initiative has been verified with a third party.

Similar to the 'evidenced' Proof Point, any documents that you submit within a claim that is verified will be published within your Proof Points on your product pages and communicate your sustainability initiatives with your shoppers transparently.

However, it is not necessary for the documents that you provide to us to go public if Provenance has been able to verify the accuracy of the information you have provided with an independent third party. Please read this article if you would like to know how to have a Proof Point verified.
